This past summer, SHINE was blessed to witness the hands and feet of Christ through the young church. Whether it was attending daily mass, singing his praises, spending time in adoration, praying with one another, serving together in the community or hanging out and having fun; every volunteer’s life was changed in one way or another. Their willingness to serve left lasting impressions on the hearts of those they served.
Here is a letter sent to us from one agency we helped for just one day with 100 SHINE volunteers.
“Paying it Forward”
Dear Shine Volunteers,
Thank you so very much for your efforts today! Everyone gave their all with a wonderful attitude. I had such a great time meeting the groups and watching the teens in action! J
To recap, so you may all “brag” tonight during your closing ceremony, this is what the groups today were able to accomplish:
1,694 bags packed that will be distributed to families this week
495 boxes prepared for distribution to seniors this week
25, 824 pounds of water readied for distribution
900 mail outs prepared for Children’s Insurance program
Over 3,000 envelopes stuffed & sealed for donor engagement
The total number of pounds “touched” today was 65,398!!!!! That is the equivalent of feeding 36, 622 people.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate your service today but we will definitely pay it forward!
